VIDEO: 2014 and 2015 Manzanar Pilgrimage/Manzanar At Dusk

We’re catching up on posting long overdue video…

Video from the 2014 and 2015 Manzanar Pilgrimage and Manzanar At Dusk programs are now available in full 1080p high definition.

The 2014 (45th Annual) Manzanar Pilgrimage featured performances by UCLA Kyodo Taiko, presentation of the 2014 Sue Kunitomi Embrey Award to former Manzanar incarceree Mas Okui and Dr. Arthur A. Hansen, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University, Fullerton. Also featured was Dr. Eileen Tamura of the University of Hawai’i as the keynote speaker.

The 2015 (46th Annual) Manzanar Pilgrimage featured “Voices From Camp&rdquo%mdash;remarks by former incarcerees Pat Sakamoto and Hatsuko Mary Higuchi, presentation of the 2015 Sue Kunitomi Embrey Legacy Award to Rev. Paul Nakamura, performances by UCLA Kyodo Taiko, and the keynote address by Dr. Satsuki Ina.

Video from the traditional ondo dancing is available for 2014 and 2015. Due to high wind conditions and the resulting poor audio quality, video from the 2015 interfaith service is not available. Video from the 2014 interfaith service is included here, however.

Video of the 2015 “Voices from Camp” speakers, of Rev. Paul Nakamura’s acceptance speech, and of keynote speaker Dr. Satsuki Ina and Manzanar Committee Co-Chair Bruce Embrey, are also included below.
